Healthy Food for Baby (Houston-area Giveaway!)

Premier Baby Planning owner and Houston-area mom, Sheneq Aranda

Do you have a new baby or one on the way? While my kids are well past the baby food stage, I remember it well. It’s such a great time to start healthy eating habits.

I recently heard about a comprehensive baby consulting service in Houston for new parents called Premier Baby Planning and wanted to share it with my new mommy Still Living The Dream readers. While they provide parents help with things like setting up a nursery, advice about good products and recommendations for local resources like lactation consultants, they also host many classes including a great homemade baby food making class coming up in March.

Houston-area mom and Premier Baby Planning owner, Shaneq Aranda, was determined not to become a fast food family and set out to give her own baby a healthy start.

Starting with foods like homemade brown rice cereal, avocado and steamed cauliflower, eventually lead to coordinating the baby’s food with entire family meal. Sheneq has always been organized and a meal planner. She enjoys cooking and finds that homemade meals are easy to prepare, healthy and saves money. “I love preparing meals at home,” she said. “Not only do I enjoy the flexibility of creating my own meals, I get to ensure that my baby is getting the nutrients he needs.”

Shaneq introduce flavors and textures that store-bought food simply doesn’t include. In addition, she encourages parents to involve their children in the cooking process. “It’s great for bonding and teaching children that food comes from home and not a drive-thru,”  she said. She also believes that exposing children to a variety of healthy foods at an early age save you the frustration of a picky eater in the long-run.

In March, Sheneq is teaching a insightful and in-depth baby food making class with practical approaches on how to make food that is simple, economical, and fast to get kids eating healthy from the start. Sheneq will demonstrate recipes, like purees, stews, sweet potato fries, how to make your own teething biscuits and more. The class is geared towards children aged 4-12 months and includes tips on meal planning, storage, and her favorite baby food making products. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in some fantastic giveaways from Premier Baby Planning’s partners.

Where was Sheneq when I was a new mom?!
