Academy Award-Nominated Movies on Movies on Demand GIVEAWAY!

It happens every year. I sit down to watch the Academy Awards and unless the winning movies are animated and their main characters are woodland creatures (and therefore appropriate for kids under 10 years old) – I haven’t seen them. Can you parents relate?

Not this year!

I’m hitting Movies On Demand between now and the show on February 27th so when the call out the winner’s name I can be “in the know”.

Some of the must-sees on my list and available on Movies on Demand include:

  • The Social Network
  • Inception
  • The Kids Are All Right
  • Winter’s Bone
  • The Town
  • Unstoppable
  • Salt
  • Iron Man 2

Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon are also available, but as a parent of a five-year-old and nine-year-old, I’ve not only seen them, I own them!!

Nominated Short films are also available to view starting tomorrow. Short films don’t always get the audiences they deserve (being 4′ 10″ – boy, do I get that!) so show them the love and watch them before the awards!
With Movies On Demand through digital cable, viewers can watch movies instantly, pause, fast-forward and rewind. Which means I can start the movie during bath time, pause the movie and dry the kids off, get them in their PJ’s and put them to bed. Restart the movie – then pause it again because I forgot to read them a story. Start the movie again and run upstairs to give them another drink of water. Rewind the movie (because I forgot to pause it the last time) and pick up where I left off….oh – you know the drill!

“How Many Have You Seen?” Poll:
To celebrate the Academy Awards – Movies On Demand on Cable has just launched a brand new app on our Facebook page called “How Many Have You Seen?” which lets film fans keep track of all the nominated flicks they’ve seen – and which ones they need to see. You could even win a 3D HDTV for the family just for picking out all the nominees you’ve seen! To check out the “How Many Have You Seen?” app and to see all the nominated titles available to rent from Movies On Demand on Cable, just visit and “Like” their Facebook page.
